Borderlands 2 long-term DLC plan based around fan interest

2K Games has dated the next DLC offering for Gearbox’s multi-platform blockbuster Borderlands 2, while also revealing the studio’s general plan in regards to new content for the game going forward.

A 2K rep told IGN that the publisher and developer would like to support the sequel for as long as it remains popular, hinting at a potential second season to follow after the first one concludes in 2013.

The rep also stated the game’s level cap could be raised in the first quarter of next year, adding the method Gearbox is exploring will make players want to play the entire game all over again.

Borderlands 2 third content offering, the Sir Hammerlock Big Game Hunt expansion, will land January 15th on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
