Broken Sword 5 coming to PS4 and Xbox One

Revolution Software’s Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse is making its home console debut this summer.

The Kickstarter adventure title is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a summer release date.

Revolution themselves will be publishing the digital edition of the crowd-funded game, while Ravenscourt is handling the physical release.

The physical version also includes a graphic novel introduction.

The game was successfully funded in 13 days over the crowdfunding platform when it launched in August 2012. It had a $400,000 goal, but ended up with$823,232.

It is already available on PC and mobile platforms, as well as PlayStation Vita.

We are delighted to bring Broken Sword 5 to PS4 and Xbox One – with enhancements over the other versions including additional animation and audio, a character gallery section and many console-specific enhancements,” said Revolution’s founder and CEO, Charles Cecil.

The Broken Sword games have a proud history on previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles. There is such a loyal following for the Broken Sword games, as demonstrated by the 15,000 fans who backed the original Kickstarter campaign – it’s fantastic to now be able to bring the game to all those console owners who have requested that we write the game for their favourite platform.”
