Call Of Duty Beta goes live at Gamespot

Activision is celebrating after promotion of the multiplayer Beta for Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on both Eurogamer.net and Game.co.uk led to more than 10,000 applications for keys.

The Beta is now set to launch on

Gamespot

, which the publisher hopes will produce another surge in demand”.

Senior brand manager at Activision David Tyler said: "This is an incredible response for us. We have already had to move

www.cod4beta.co.uk

onto a dedicated server in order to cope with the enormous demand we are experiencing.

Within 12 hours of announcing the Beta programme for the UK and Ireland, we had received more than 10,000 applications for keys, with only Game.co.uk and Eurogamer.net having started their promotions. GameSpot UK goes live today, and we are expecting another surge in demand. Things couldn’t look better for Call of Duty 4."

Call Of Duty 4 is scheduled for release at the end of November.
