Call Of Duty Elite mobile app delayed

The mobile app designed to accompany Activision’s Call of Duty: Elite service has been delayed.

The publisher doesn’t want to add extra strain on its service while it is still working to stabilise it in the face of huge user numbers. It had been due to go live last week.

Activision announced earlier this month that it was delaying the PC version of Call of Duty: Elite, too.

"Since we do not want to add even more stress to the back-end servers, we are holding back on launching the Elite mobile applications until the service is stable and our players can easily access it,” a statement read.

"We will have the apps ready to launch as soon as we are comfortable the experience will be a great one, and will update with more information soon."
