Channel 4 to join forces with Edinburgh

Channel 4’s 4Talent Scotland has backed a new strand at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival designed to help new gaming talent get into the industry.

The strand, called Talent Arcade, is broken into four main elements: The Knowledge, a series of panels on finding financing for projects, self-publishing and setting up games companies; The Kit, demonstrations of hardware and software; The Answers, a ‘broad-sweeping session offering participants the chance to get answers to their gaming gremlins from a live panel of experts’, and The Brief, in which Scottish developers TPLD, 3MRT, Tag Games and Cohort Studios will set a brief for an project, which people can submit proposals towards. The winners will get work placements at the studios as well as free places on Dundee’s industry training course The Gameplay.

Talent Arcade takes place on Monday August 11th between 10am and 8pm. For more information and free tickets, visit the 4 Talent Scotland website.
