Complexity Gaming gets investment from Dallas Cowboys owner

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most recognisable sports teams in the world. The famous blue star is arguably as well known as the New York Yankees famous ‘NY’ symbol. And its owner, Jerry Jones is another sports mogul who has turned his attention digitally.

Jones, and his business partner John Goff, have invested Houston, Texas-based Complexity Gaming, acquiring a majority share in the company. The news was announced by Complexity Gaming in an online video.

"There’s an undeniable energy being brought to our world of esports from investors all wanting to be a part of the next big thing," said Complexity CEO Jason Lake in the video. "You look for those who will elevate you to the next level. You look for those that respect tradition but value innovation. You look for those that thrive on competition."

"The growth in professional gaming is incredibly significant," Jones said in a press release. "We’re proud to be stepping into this space with John Goff and an industry icon in Jason Lake."

The move is the latest in sports businesses investing in esports. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has previously invested in esports announcing an Overwatch team in Boston called the Boston Uprising, and sports entertainment company WWE recently took a big stake in Cloud 9

The Cowboys AT&T Stadium is planning to host esports events too as Complexity relocates to the stadium complex. Given that it has the 24th largest high definition screen in the world could make it a fascinating venue for esports.
