Darkness II dated for October

2K Games has announced that The Darkness II will be released in the UK and Europe on October 7th. It will arrive in North America on October 4th.

The game is a sequel to 2K’s 2007 release which looked to mix up the traditional FPS formula with the addition of ‘Darkness’ – a mystical force twinned with protagonist Jackie Estacado.

This is taken a step further in the new game with the idea of ‘Quad Wielding’, which gives players control of four weapons – one regular weapon in each hand and a pair of Demon Arms, the manifest of Darkness.

The Darkness II is due out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
