Ex Realtime Worlds creative director returns for second spin

Dave Jones becomes APB Reloaded advisor

Dave Jones has been appointed as an advisor of the All Points Bulletin remake, months after his studio collapsed from the failure of the original.

The widely respected Jones has taken advisory role on the GamersFirst board, which is publishing a free-to-play remake of the game.

Last year, Realtime Worlds buckled under severe financial strain, following “lacklustre” sales of its exorbitant APB project. Over 200 jobs were lost, though GamersFirst bought the APB IP.

Its remake is set for full relesase this year.

Jones said he was excited to be fulfilling his long-term vision for the game with GamersFirst.

"This game was my passion back when I was developing it with Realtime Worlds,” he said.

"After seeing what the team has done with the game thus far, I’m certain that APB Reloaded will become the title that truly breaks new ground for online game experiences, especially with transition to a free to play model."

Bjorn Book-Larsson, GamersFirst CTO, said hiring Jones “lets us take advantage of both a deeper understanding of the original vision of APB”.
