DEVELOP AWARDS: Candy Crush Saga maker King takes Business Development award

Candy Crush maker King has earned the award Business Development at this year’s Develop Industry Excellence Awards 2013.

The firm’s flagship title, match-three game Candy Crush Saga, has helped lift the company to new heights. The game has become one of the top grossing apps in the UK, US, Japan and across Europe.

King has also begin a huge recruitment drive as it looks to grow its studios, which it presently has in London, Malmo, Barcelona and Bucharest.

Earlier this month, King also usurped Zynga as the number one developer on Facebook.

King’s performance topped a list of heavywight nominees including Abertay University Prototype Fund, Eutechnyx, Mediatonic, Mind Candy, Jagex, The Foundry and Wargaming.
