Did SCi bid come from US?

The

Independent newspaper

has referenced a ‘market source’ who suggests that the speculative bid for SCi/Eidos that saw the publisher’s stock leap by over 10 per cent last week came from a ‘larger American peer’.

That would point to Warner Bros., who were mentioned in the original Guardian finance story as a potential suitor of the Britsoft publisher.

An SCi spokesperson told MCV ‘no comment’ when asked for a statement on the matter.

SCI’s share price has maintained its higher price today, holding at 60p-per-share. The firm’s stock price jumped up to 60.5p on Friday.

MCVuk.com has today posted SCi chief executive Phil Rogers’ first press interview since his financial review – in which he reveals that Eidos still has the fiscal muscle to buy new IP if the property is right”.
