Tiny Death Star studio Nimblebit unaware of Disney's plans until game was removed from app stores

Disney pulls Star Wars games – without informing developers

Tiny Death Star and Star Wars Assault Team have both been removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play, but their developers weren’t told.

Disney has decided to permanently pull both games in order to focus on higher priority titles – such as last month’s Clash of Clans-style Star Wars Commander – according to Pocket Gamer’s sources.

Tiny Death Star creator Nimblebit told the site the team was not informed about Disney’s decision before the game had been removed.

"My assumption is they don’t feel it is worth it to maintain the game any longer," co-founder Ian Marsh said. "[Tiny Death Star was] a significant source revenue for us, so it stings that much more."

Neither game had been available for more than a year, with Assault Team only released five months ago.
