Epic’s next Unreal Engine – the original HD video

Epic Games today revealed to the world what it believes will be a keystone technology for the next generation of games.

The DX11 edition of Unreal Engine boasts a breadth of advancements. New artist-driven features, including image-based reflection and improved bloom, combine with DirectX11 features such as sub-surface scattering, as well as dynamic tessalation and displacement.

The video of the engine can be found below.

Demonstrating the new tech at GDC last week, Epic Games vice president Mark Rein described it as ‘a love letter to hardware manufacturers’.
