Ex-Destiny composer gets his Bungie shares back

Bungie’s composer Marty O’Donnell has seen his shares return to him.

O’Donnell, who has been with the company from the start and has worked across Halo and Destiny, left the company earlier this year. Bungie said they parted on good terms, but clearly that was a bit of a fib.

O’Donnell responded by said he had his employment terminated ‘without cause’.

Had he actually left voluntarily, he would have surrendered his stock in the company, which is likely to rise significantly once it releases Destiny – a game that is sure to be the fastest selling new IP ever.

O’Donnell also filed a suit against Bungie claiming unpaid benefits in June, and was awarded $95,000 for unpaid word, vacation time and ‘damages’.

Bungie has the option to appeal.
