Final Fantasy VII’s PC release heading to PS4

Square Enix is bringing the enhanced PC version of Final Fantasy VII to PlayStation 4 next year, but the news isn’t sitting very well with fans of the franchise.

The company announced at Sony’s PlayStation Experience event that Final Fantasy VII will arrive on PS4 in spring 2015, carrying the same features as the title’s Steam release last year.

Kotaku has put together an article of the negative reaction coming in from sites such as Twitter and Reddit. Many individuals express frustration regarding the lack of a full HD re-release – something fans have made their desire for clear over the past several years.

With the ratio of the official announcement video’s dislikes to likes on YouTube at more than 5:1 (just over 2,000 likes and 13,000 dislikes as of earlier today), the frustration seems palpable at this point.
