Developer working on PS4 title Amazing Discoveries in Outer Space

Former DICE devs open new studio Cosmic Picnic

Former DICE and Ghost Games developers have opened a new studio in Stockholm called Cosmic Picnic.

The team includes ex-Ghost Games technical director Filip Karlsson, former Ghost development manager and DICE software engineer Niclas Forsell, artist John Holmvall and musician Joakim Kanon.

Its first game in development is 2D space exploration game Amazing Discoveries in Outer Space. The studio describes the PS4 title as playing like a mix between Kerbal Space Program and Spelunky. The title features procedurally generated solar systems, physical simulation of each system, including gravity, temperature and atmospheric air resistance, and no killing.

The game is scheduled for release in autumn 2015.
