Start-up gets $1.4m in funding and launches private beta of Blackjack Casino

Former Zynga Austin devs launch Bee Cave Games

Austin just got another game startup with the launch of Bee Cave Games.

Zynga Austin vets Erik Bethke, Nimai Malle, and Jeremy
Strauser formed the studio in late 2012, and plan on developing and publishing casino games to the social and mobile markets.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and passionate team at Bee Cave Games as we begin to deliver on our vision of entertaining the world with the best casino games of all genres, on all platforms,” said Bethke, CEO of Bee Cave.

The new team raised over $1.4 million in seed funding including a strategic investment from Glu Mobile.

"The social casino genre has seen tremendous growth in the past year, and we believe the team at Bee Cave Games is well equipped to succeed in the sector’s expected continued growth in 2013 and beyond,” said Glu Mobile president and CEO Niccolo de Masi.

BCG’s first game, Balckjack Casino, is currently in private beta on Facebook.
