Expresses dissatisfaction with Age of Conan; Anarchy Online director to take over reigns

Funcom co-founder resigns

Gaute Godager, co-founder of Norweigan developer Funcom, has stepped down from his post at the company due to dissatisfaction with its recent MMO Age of Conan.

According to Edge Online, Godager, who served as producer and game designer on the title, said that he had "done his very best making this fabulous game, but I have concluded that there are elements which I am dissatisfied with. I have decided to act on this, and as a result I have chosen to leave Funcom."

He will be replaced by Craig Morrison, formerly producer and game director for Funcom’s earlier MMO Anarchy Online, who has promised to listen to and address the concerns of the fans.

“I have a clear conviction I can lead the further development in a good way, evolving Age of Conan into something even better,” he said.

“My main priority now is therefore to listen to, and act on, player concerns, while ensuring we add additional great content to the game. At heart I will always be a gamer, and the coming changes and additions to Conan will always be done with the gamers in mind. Together I am certain we will shape an amazing future for Age of Conan.”
