Our Canada Special continues with a look one of the most recent converts to Québec

Funcom Montreal profiled

Today develop has published the latest addition to its three week focus on the Canadian development industry – a profile of Funcom’s Montreal studio.

Funcom, which was originally founded in Norway in 1993, only established a presence in Québec in September this year, where it is working on its biggest title yet, The Secret World.

Apparently attracted to Canada by the country’s ‘fantastic talent pool’, Funcom is poised to take advantage of the province’s still snowballing games industry.

“Canada has embraced game development and it definitely shows,” enthused Funcom COO Ole Schreiner. “The close proximity to one of the largest gaming markets in the world is also a great benefit to us."
