GAME category manager moves to HMV

Former senior category manager for GAME Andy Pinder is to join HMV as its games category manager next month.

The role was vacated by Martin Baxter back in April, who has since gone on to join digital retailer Green Man Gaming.

Andy Pinder will report to head of technology and games Ewan Pinder.

"We’re delighted to welcome Andy to HMV and to our technology and games team,” Ewan Pinder stated. He’s obviously a very well known and respected figure in the industry with extensive gaming knowledge combined with a wealth of retail experience.I’m sure he’ll make an important contribution to our games offer going forward."

Andy Pinder added: "I am delighted to have joined HMV and am excited about meeting the team and sharing my passion to help drive the games category within HMV. We have another fantastic Q4 product line up and I look forward to working with all our supplier partners as we enter our peak trading period."

He will assume his new role at HMV on September 17th. HMV’s senior games buyer Jason Brooks will continue to serve as games boss on an interim basis in the meantime.
