Games industry marketing expert Jon Rooke has joined 2K.

Rooke is a 16-year veteran of the video games industry, including lengthy stints at Vivendi, Microsoft, Sega and THQ. His most recent roles included European marketing director at Sega, global brand director at The Creative Assembly and European marketing director at THQ.

He joins 2K as international marketing and communications director. He starts on Monday.

Continuing the restructure of 2K’s international business, we’re happy to announce that Jon Rooke will start as International Marketing and Communications Director on August 1st,” said VP of publishing Murray Pannell.

Bringing on Jon to lead the International Marketing and Communication teams is the last piece of the puzzle to complete the evolution of the 2K International team in Windsor. Previously at SEGA, Creative Assembly, THQ and Xbox, Jon has a wealth of experience on both the publishing and development side, and brings a ton of knowledge to the table on triple-A franchises, Sports titles and Strategy games. By welcoming Jon to the management team at 2K, we believe we’re all set for the biggest year in 2K history.”
