Online retailer offering finishing finance to developers, hires former Codies and Sega exec Gary Rowe

Green Man Gaming launches publishing label

Digital games retailer Green Man Gaming has branched into publishing, giving developers another route to bring their titles to market.

The new venture is called Green Man Loaded and will be headed up by new hire Gary Rowe, who will serve as executive vice president for the publishing arm. Rowe previously served as VP for digital business at Codemasters and SVP of publishing and content at Sega.

Green Man already has multiple projects lined up and is actively looking for more developers that wish to publish their games through the retailer’s distribution channels. It is even offering finishing finance for developers that need a hand reaching completion on their project.

All developers will retain ownership of their IP, and will receive fortnightly royalties from their sales.

"My first priority at Green Man Loaded has been to meet developers with high quality PC titles available for worldwide publishing and I’m looking forward to making our first announcements about this in the coming weeks," said Rowe.

"As well as development support, we can also offer marketing, PR and sales services, and will be looking to the Playfire community to offer closed beta testing, QA and design feedback to help improve games before launch."
