Guild Wars 2 lead designer joins Amazon Game Studios

The lead designer of Guild Wars 2 is the latest addition to Amazon’s games development arm.

Amazon Game Studios has hired Eric Flannum, who leaves ArenaNet after 10 years at the MMO firm. He will take up the role of creative director, according toGamasutra.

Flannum will reportedly be working on a new PC title that will be a competitive, melee-oriented” third-person action game. The studio has previouslyrecruited for an ambitious” new PC game– presumably the project Flannum has now been assigned to.

The hire follows some significant departures from Amazon Games Studios, when Splinter Cell devClint Hocking announced he was leaving the firm, followed shortly bytwo more designers.
