Veteran PlayStation developer to launch a new title for a franchise at E3

Idol Minds becomes Deck Nine Games following relaunch

PlayStation development stalwart Idol Minds has relaunched their studio and also renamed themselves as Deck Nine Games.

The developer of titles like Pain and entries in to the Ratchet and Clank and Cool Boarders franchises have also announced that they will be unveiling a new game for a ‘critically acclaimed franchise’ at this year’s E3 show.

"We’ve invested heavily in our staff of incredibly talented developers and in creating some truly remarkable tools," said Deck Nine’s VP, Jeff Litchford. "Our game will be announced at E3 this year where you’ll be able to see our efforts for yourself.”

One of those tools is StoryForge, a in-house solution for storytelling, allowing the artistic and creative teams at Deck Nine to focus on story. This toolset has been in development for three years and helps the studio with their shift in direction, following hires from film and TV industries.

"With the creation of our new, proprietary toolset StoryForge and the shift in studio focus, we are removing the shackles from our creative team and bringing together our two passions; meaningful storytelling and rich gameplay," Litchford continued.

"We built StoryForge to give our writers, directors and cinematic artists and give them the tools they need to make deep, interactive, great looking games, added Deck Nine president and CTO, Mark Lyons. "We can’t wait to show what we have created with it.”
