Inspired Gaming acquires London studio We R Interactive

Virtual Sports and online games provider Inspired Gaming has acquired London studio We R Interactive.

The deal sees the firm purchase the main assets and employees of the developer, as well as its IP such as I Am PlayR and We R Football.

Football sim I Am PlayR is said to have been played by as many 20 million people worldwide.

“Mobile is a key focus for Inspired and our customers, and the rise of social games on mobile devices has some interesting lessons for the real-money gambling world in terms of player engagement and entertainment,” said Inspired Gaming Group CEO Luke Alvarez.

“This acquisition reinforces our leadership in virtual sports on mobile and opens our content up to a new group of gamers. The We R Interactive team is passionate, smart and forward-thinking – they are a great fit with Inspired and our culture.”
