Phil White takes senior position on strategy title development

Jagex hires 8Realms VP

UK-based studio Jagex has hired a new vice president for its in-development strategy title 8Realms.

Phil White, who boasts over two decades of industry experience for companies like Codemasters, EA and Persistent Worlds, has taken on the senior position at the upcoming game, currently in closed beta.

“I have been following the rise of Jagex for the last decade and delighted to get the opportunity to join the team,” White said.

“Jagex’s history, experience and the company’s vision for the future with RuneScape, Transformers and StellarDawn meant that joining the Jagex was a real no-brainer for me. It is a real privilege to join the 8Realms team at such a critical stage in the games development.

“The cross platform, play anywhere experience of 8Realms really took my breath away and I knew instantly this was something that I had to be a part of.”

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard was in equally good spirits, saying: “We are delighted that Phil has chosen to join the Jagex family.”

“Phil has had a hugely successful career and brings a wealth of industry experience which will help him to prepare 8Realms for release and beyond.”
