James Bond Blood Stone confirmed

Activision has today officially confirmed the existence of James Bond Blood Stone, a brand new game based on Britain’s favourite secret agent currently in development at British developer Bizarre.

The game is primarily an action title though will feature plenty of driving action. Joss Stone is set to star as the game’s Bond girl.

For the time being it’s unclear exactly how the title fits into Activision’s plans for 007. In 2009 it was reported that Bizarre was working on two Bond titles, one a racer and another an action outing. Whether Blood Stone is the former or the latter – or possibly a single title born out of both projects – remains a mystery for now.

Blue’s News yesterday went live with a report rumouring the new game, quoting Activision’s head of marketing for licensed properties David Pokress as stating:

James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond. In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3 and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

The release date is currently unknown.
