Studios in Ireland and Scandinavia will now be able to launch their own Kickstarter projects to crowdfund their next games.
The platform announced via its official blog that companies in four new countries – Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Ireland – can begin building their Kickstarter project pages as of today. These projects will then be launched to the public on October 21st.
Kickstarter campaigns from these countries will be added to the worldwide site, although (as with other nations already supported by the crowdfunding site) you will be able to search for projects specifically from these regions.
The newly-added support means that developers can raise funds in their local currency: Danish kroner, Swedish kroner, Norwegian kroner and the Euro for Ireland. Studios can also write up their pitch in their own language, although Kickstarter recommends that they also include an English description.
