Koei celebrates 1.5m-seller

Japanese publisher Koei’s Warriors Orochi has shipped over 1.5 million units across the globe.

The Xbox 360, PS2 and PSP title mixes two of the publisher’s two biggest franchises – Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.

The success of the release has prompted Koei to announce a sequel for North America.

"This milestone is a significant testament to the global impact not only of this game, but also to the tremendous admiration that fans worldwide share for the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors characters," said Koei senior VP Amos Ip.

"As we celebrate, I would like to recognise and express our thanks to the videogame world’s greatest fans for making this achievement possible."
