Kotick nominated as MarketWatch CEO of the Year

Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick has been named as a finalist for MarketWatch’s CEO of the Year award.

Kotick received the most recognition for his success in merging Activision and Blizzard earlier this year. MarketWatch described the move as the creation of a formidable challenger to industry leader Electronic Arts”.

Kotick has displayed a value investor’s knack for acquiring businesses cheaply and at seemingly inopportune times, only to unlock their potential in an effective way that adds value to the company as a whole,” the site reported.

The Activision chief faces off against other CEOs from a variety of industries, including Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Southwest Airlines Gary Kelly.
