Fund launches next week, with minimum investment of £25,000

Mercia Digital Fund targets games and gamification

Technology investor Mercia is launching a new fund that targets digital start-ups, including games developers.

The Mercia Digital Fund will launch on Monday, August 11th and offers a minimum investment of £25,000.

There are four areas the investor is particularly interested in: gaming and gamification, e-commerce, financial technology and the Internet of Things.

"We believe there are a number of compelling reasons for launching a fund of this type in the current climate," explains Mercia Fund Management MD Mark Payton.

"First and foremost, digital is the UK’s fastest-growing sector and is already the third biggest contributor to the nation’s economy. The UK is undoubtedly among the world leaders in key digital industries such as fintech, e-commerce and the fast evolving gaming categories."
