Microsoft confirms Halo 4 Game of the Year Edition for October

A Game of the Year edition of Halo 4 will arrive at retail this October, Microsoft has confirmed.

IGN originally reported on a photo the outlet received from an anonymous source that shows the game as part of a presentation.

The image indicates the game will be priced at $50 and packages content worth $80 if individually purchased.

That includes Halo 4 itself, Spartan Ops Season 1, War Games Map Pass, Halo 4 Champions Bundle, as well as pre-order and special edition exclusive bonus content.

Microsoft has since confirmed the report, offering the following statement:

A Game of the Year Edition of Halo 4 will be offered this October, offering tremendous value for fans who want to enjoy one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2012, and additional DLC all in one place. We will have more details to share during the live stream of the Halo Global Championship Finals this Sunday.”
