Microsoft ditches glossy Xbox 360

Time has officially been called on the glossy version of the Xbox 360 console.

Until now, high-capacity Xbox 360 SKUs sported a glossy finish while the entry-level 4GB model instead carried a matte look.

Earlier this month it was announced the some 250GB models would also be going matte. Now Microsoft’s Major Nelson has revealed that in fact all Xbox 360’s will getting that finish in future.

I wanted to set the record straight,” he explained on his blog. We are actively transitioning all our Xbox 360 S consoles to a matte finish.

The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don’t wait much longer.”
