To include real-time Kinect multiplayer and 'dramatically enhanced' IE9 browser

Microsoft outlines Windows Phone enhancements

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has unveiled a number of new features and capabilities of the firm’s Windows Phone 7 the firm plans for later in the year.

Beyond the ‘copy and paste patch’, the exec revealed a number of other enhancements including Twitter integration into the People Hub and Office document storage in the cloud via Windows Live SkyDrive.

‘Next generation’ browsing is also coming to Windows Phone 7 with a ‘dramatically enhanced’ Internet Explorer 9 web browser which will offer HTML5 standards as well as hardware accelerated rendering.

Also incoming is the capacity for cross-platform multiplayer with Xbox 360 owners. A video saw a console user playing Kinect dodgeball with the WP7 owner controlling the flight of the balls via his touch screen.
