Mike Bilder leaves for another Chicago-based studio; two more leave from publishing side

Midway Chicago studio head departs

Rumours of Midway’s instability continue to surface, with Kotaku reporting that Midway Chicago studio head Mike Bilder has left the company.

According to the report, Bilder has taken a senior management role at another Chicago-based developer, the name of which was not disclosed.

"We are evaluating internal and external candidates for the role, and both Blitz: The League II and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, as well as other projects in the Chicago studio, are on track for successful launches," said a spokesperson.

The news comes shortly after Midway shut down its LA studio, offering most of those staff with jobs at the San Diego studio.

In addition, two senior staff have left the publishing arm of Midway – Mona Hamilton, vice president of marketing, and Reilly Brennan, director of media relations. Kotaku is also reporting that a further two more senior Midway employees have left, but no confirmation has been forthcoming.
