Wildly popular indie game reaches another milestone in just three months

Minecraft PC passes seven million sales

Minecraft’s PC version has surpassed seven million sales worldwide.

That’s according to Danial Kaplan, business developer at Mojang, who tweeted: “More than 7 million minecraft (pc) copies sold! 🙂

“Thank you all Minecrafters around the world showing such dedication and support.”

The game’s PC version was quoted to have reached six million users in May, meaning it’s achieved this milestone in three months.

Mojang reported profits of 60 million SEK (£5.7m) in 2011. Last week, its CEO Carl Manneh said that he expects the company to more than double its annual profit this year.

He added that the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is currently selling about 17,000 units daily.
