Minecraft PC sales cross 12m, Mass Effect DLC planned for 360 Edition

Calling Minecraft the golden goose of Mojang seems a bit understated at this point.

The original version of the game (PC/Mac/Linux) has surpassed 12m copies sold, according to its official sales ticker. Combined with dated console and mobile numbers, that moves Minecraft to well over 20m copies sold across all current platforms.

Kotaku also reports on new Mass Effect crossover DLC landing this week for the popular sandbox title’s Xbox 360 edition.

The Mass Effect pack, created by Minecraft console devs 4J Studios, packs features an in-game recreation of the Mass Effect 3 Mars Facility location, along with 36 new characters skins, textures and craft-able items, themed menus and UI, and 22 music tracks.

The content will be released September 4th on Xbox Live for $3.99.
