Mojang ends Scrolls support, servers shutting down next year

Mojang is no longer developing content for its card-battle strategy game Scrolls, with the studio confirming plans to shut down servers in 2016.

In a post on the Scroll’sofficial website, the Microsoft-owned company explained that the its second full release received its last major content update earlier this month.

"After much deliberation, we’ve come to an important decision that we’d like to share: Echoes will be the last major content patch for Scrolls. We won’t be adding features or sets from now on, though we are planning to keep a close eye on game balance."

Servers will remain open for the game until July 1st, 2016.

Mojang will apparently shift all of its focus back to Minecraft – the developer’s only active IP – for the time being.
