MS ships 2m WP7 handsets

Microsoft told All Things Digital that more than two million Windows Phone 7 smartphones had shipped to mobile carriers.

"We’re still in the early stages," Microsoft Windows Phone 7 product manager Greg Sullivan told All Things Digital in an interview.

"When people use this phone, they really, really like it," he said. However there are still no figures released on how many handsets have sold to consumers.

Smartphone maker LG had earlier admitted to Pocket-Lint that early sales had been disappointing.

Sullivan said that more telling than unit volume was the level of customer satisfaction data. 93 per cent of early customers are either satisfied or very satisfied with Windows Phone 7, claimed Sullivan.
