Perfect Dark and Blast Corps developer hints at Natal-compatible re-releases

Natal could resurrect old Rare IP

UK studio Rare is interested in using Microsoft’s Natal technology to breathe new life into some of its older franchises.

The UK developer is currently looking for more staff to help the studio work on Natal-compatible games and, perhaps, services.

Yet Rare’s design director George Andreas told Videogamer that Natal gives the studio “an opportunity to – maybe at some point in the future – investigate some of those older IPs.”

Andreas didn’t cite which IP Rare is thinking of returning to with Natal, but implied that one game in particular would make a perfect fit with Microsoft’s motion-sensing technology.

“One [old IP] I think we can do an absolutely phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal version on with Natal. The interface, the way you interact with it – I think it would be an absolutely world-beating product. But we need to explore a little bit more in that direction.”

A list of Rare IPs can be found here.
