New Sonic game set for 2017, could be revealed at Comic-Con

A new Sonic game is set to arrive in 2017, Gematsu reports.

Sega apparently made the announcement at the character’s 25th anniversary event in Tokyo by long-time Sonic developer Takash Iizuka.

MCV understands that Sonic is set to have a big focus at Comic-Con in San Diago next month, so we can expect to see something then.

Sega has a number of Sonic projects this year, including Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice for 3DS, Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympics for Wii U and 3DS, and Sonic will also appear in LEGO Dimensions.

Sonic’s 25th Anniversary Party takes place on Saturday, July 23.
