New Sonic racer has transforming vehicles

Sega is trying something slightly different for its follow-up to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

The newly announced Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will feature vehicles that morph between car, plane and boat form. A bit like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Once again, Sonic will be joined by a variety of Sega characters including Dr Eggman and Super Monkey Ball’s AiAi. There will also be new racers, such as Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and the excellently-named Golden Axe’s Gilius Thunderhead.

There will also be a range of tracks based on locations from various Sega games. Victory can be secured with the enhanced weapons system and All-Star special moves.

Racing Transformed is currently in development for Xbox 360, PS3, Vita and 3DS, and is due by the end of the year. It will be download only on PC.
