No plans for Torchlight II on current or upcoming consoles, says Runic

Runic’s hit action-RPG Torchlight II won’t be expanding to consoles, the developer has confirmed.

A company representative told VG247 the team has no plans for Torchlight 2 on consoles,” when asked if it had plans to bring the popular sequel to current or next-gen hardware.

The original Torchlight launched initially as a digital download on Windows PC in October 2009. The game later released on Xbox 360 in 2011, and was supposed to also arrive on PS3 until Microsoft assumed the role of publisher for the console version.

Torchlight II launched on PC in September of last year, and has since racked up well over 2m sales. A Mac version is still in the works, but no word yet on when the port is expected to arrive.
