No Steam release for Quantum Break on PC

Microsoft has said that the only way people will be able to buy the PC version of Quantum Break is through the Windows store.

And while many recent Microsoft PC releases – such as Rise of the Tomb Raider – have been dubbed as ‘Windows 10′ titles despite happily working with other versions of the OS, Quantum Break will properly be the reserve of Windows 10 users.

"Quantum Break on Windows 10 is a Windows Store exclusive," Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg said on the Major Nelson podcast, as reported by GameSpot. Apparently the same will also be true of Fable Legends.

The game’s PC announcement last week irritated some, with Xbox boss Phil Spencer addressing the concerns head-on, insisting that releasing Xbox One titles on PC does not weaken the console platform and does not point to a weakening commitment from Microsoft.

"People should know: Xbox is a big priority and a huge commitment," Greenberg added. "Please do not let the fact that we are also launching a game on the same day on Windows 10 change your perspective on the importance of the console business [or] our commitment to innovating on console.

"From our CEO down at Microsoft, there’s tons of commitment and enthusiasm for our [console] business [and] we’re having tremendous success. We always want to hear people’s feedback, we’re always listening. While they might not always agree with 100 per cent of everything we do, we love the feedback."
