Online Black Ops woes – Treyarch speaks

PS3 owners still experiencing problems with the online component of Call of Duty: Black Ops have been told to hold tight as Treyarch looks to release another patch that it hopes will eradicate the issues.

On Wednesday the developer released an update designed to ease the problems some are having with matchmaking and losing connections during online multiplayer.

However, many users have reported that they’ve seen little improvement or, in some cases, seen things deteriorate further.

"We are aware that many online players have been experiencing connectivity issues since Tuesday’s patch," the studio’s community manager Josh olin stated. "We have been working hard to track down the cause and fix them as quickly as we can.

"We’ve already updated the game with one ‘hot fix’ since Tuesday’s release that has improved many of those connectivity problems, and we’ve got more coming, so stay tuned. In the meantime, know that we’re committed to doing everything we can to support the best online experience, and we’re working quickly to resolve this issue."

Olin also urged users not to delate their game save data. Some users had reported an improvement to the situation after doing so, but he claims that it’s nothing more than coincidence.
