Ori and the Blind Forest profitable after one week, developer says

Recent Xbox One and PC release Ori and the Blind Forest was able to turn a profit in just a week’s time, developer Moon Studios has revealed.

Games Industry reports on the studio’s CEO Thomas Mahler statement to fans, in which he claims Microsoft is quite pleased with the title’s sales success thus far. The game launched last month and is also due out on Xbox 360 later this year.

Microsoft is super happy, so we’ll see about Ori’s future,” Mahler said in reference to whether Moon Studios will develop the IP any further.

All the money we make goes right back into the studio – so if you wanna support us and our future projects, buy Ori and or gift it to your friends. The more copies we sell, the higher the chance that we get to work on new projects.”

Mahler added he’d love for his team and Microsoft to do a little bit more” with Ori, and that it would be amazing” if a film studio picked up the rights.
