The long wait for Destiny is over, with Activision’s shooter officially launching this morning ahead of what could be a record-breaking game launch in the UK.

Destiny is the most pre-ordered new IP in GAME’s history and looks set to eclipse the record set by Watch Dogs earlier this year.

Speaking of which, GAME held its own official launch event at its Stratford store last night, with 38-year-old Csaba Toth being the first person to pick up the game.

It was great to see so many fans turn up for our midnight launches,” GAME category director Charlotte Knight said. It was a pivotal moment for gamers all over the world and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of delivering what is a ground-breaking gaming experience.”

Activision also held its own official launch event at London’s OXO Tower with celebrities such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Professor Green, Tiny Tempah and Manchester United’s Ashley Young.
