Platinum talks up Madworld 2

Just last week Sega cited the disappointing sales of Madworld as one of the reasons behind its reluctance to publish future mature-rated games on the Wii – but now the game’s developer has said that it would very much like to return to the IP.

The Wii is a very well-balanced piece of hardware,” Platinum Games’ Shigenori Nishikawa told ONM.

I think MadWorld was very well received and was acknowledged for its innovative graphical style and gameplay. We would definitely be interested in making a sequel in the future.”

How easy it would be for Platinum to find a publisher is another question altogether, though despite the question marks over the sector there are companies out there doing very well from more left-field and specialist interest product.
