Playfish reaches userbase of 55m

Facebook developer Playfish has announced that its games have been played 340m times by users worldwide.

The EA-owned company has released a range of statistics showcasing its rapid growth since being founded in November 2007.

A total of 55m people experience Playfish games every month, while over 90m virtual items are transacted within them every day.

Playfish has a raft of Facebook games including Madden Superstars, FIFA Superstars, Pet Society, Poker Rivals and Gangster City. Comparatively, Zynga’s CityVille recently became Facebook’s most popular game with over 100m monthly actively users.
