Prince of Persia 2 remake in the works for mobile devices

1993 release Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame is being remade for tablets and smartphones, Ubisoft has announced.

PoP creator Jordan Mechner revealed on his blog that the new game "will feature updated graphics, sound and touch controls in the spirit of Prince of Persia Classic," instead of just being a direct port of the MS-DOS version.

Platforms weren’t specified, but Ubisoft’s update of the original Prince of Persia made its way to both iOS and Android – after originally launching on XBLA and PSN.

The updated title will drop the sequel denotation by just going by the title Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame. A release date wasn’t mentioned, only that it would be coming soon” to mobile devices.
