Recordable TV coming to PS3

Sony Computer Entertainment’s head of marketing for New Zealand has confirmed that the company is looking to launch a digital tuner for the PS3 next year – effectively transforming it into a fully-functioning TV recorder.

Warwick Light told NZ’s The Press newspaper:

"We’re hoping next year – about the same time that Freeview launches its terrestrial broadcasting service – to release a digital tuner for the PS3, turning it into a programmable TV recorder."

The news follows

MCV’s prediction

that Sony would announce video-on-demand and Freeview TV features at the Leipzig Game Convention later this month.
